MicroTech Specialist makes use of many simulation tools:
On all new designs, or on circuits merely being examine, our licensed simulation tools have proven to be indispensable! Today’s projects are no longer merely “jump-started” by first wondering into a
lab, building, and then analyzing. This older method has proven to be an often expensive “hit and miss affair” that raises the cost of business while shattering often limited dreams of a new idea.
The speed and the accuracy offer by today’s simulator engines are easily within modest reach and have now offer up a fundamental shift in approach used in a modern electronic department. This methodology clearly represent “the best bang for the buck approach”
toward developing a new idea.
Here, at MicroTech Specialist our electronic lab and CAD efforts are officially reserved for only those designs that have been proven by observing “Simulation Expectations” first.

- System Simulations (High level behavioral Tokens)
Many designs are theoretical in first form, and are thus often open to differing interpretations from different designers. Our high level approach is to treat each aspect of a system idea as a group of high end tokens so that we can then swiftly move in to determine exactly how each these pieces inter-play together in real time. Or, basically as a human might perceive it, but without the guess work or good intentions!
Using system simulation also requires a “on demand ability” to be able to hand off high level complex signals to lesser module simulators, such that further insight into t
heir electrical effects can be gained. An good affordable simulator can’t do it all, yet! So, being able to hand-off during system simulation is an valuable trait of many of the “Sims” we use. Only a few simulators in the marketplace have shown this by-directional knack towards handing off simple to perhaps complex signals from one simulator to the other and back again.

- Digital Simulations (FPGA Logic Simulations)
Logic designs made up of many trifle lesser digital chips is a idea from the past. Today, all new digital designs take their circuit form inside of modern FPGAs. Here at MicroTech Specialist, we have focus our efforts around the Altera family of FPGAs. Using tools like
Quartos II our logic needs are realized even with some significant analog abilities included too!
Logic circuits are used to implement the necessary digital controls necessary with Analog or RF circuits found commonly in today’s communication circuits.

- Analog simulations (Professional SPICE Node Simulator)
Spice simulations mostly have been used in small sectional module designs as a means to prove circuit worthiness. With the aid of very fast Pentium computers Spice can even do partial to significant system simulations today. Here the realization of detail electronic parts interaction is proven using “macro modeling” with off-the-self parts. Simulations taking days and sometimes weeks are now occurring in minutes.
This all helps towards first build, first work, lofty goals that are fully achievable!

-RF Simulations: (2-D Planar Electromagnetic)
Some analog and RF circuit require simulation interfacing prior to on the bench time. Often merely the simple 2D planar simulator is adequate for most routine circuits that have been characterized by manufactures via “S-Parameter” data files. Below is just such a part being tested using micro strip technology.

- Microwave Simulations: (3-D Electromagnetic)
For those unusual microwave patterns that are non standard in shape and on materials demanding their characteristic inclusion, we can do full 3-D Electromagnetic simulation. Often we draw an simple pattern to gain access to it’s S-parameter file so that it can be added to a 2D Planar simulator or even perhaps our system simulator runs.

PCB Artworks
- (I primarily only do only the most difficult!)
- (Many circuits may use all three disciplines on the same PCB!)

LAB Testing Facilities
- (Digital and Microwave Electronic Benches)
Our laboratory is primarily used to test out modules we have been designing for the last four years. This effort was directed towards developing a new communication system utilizing Sym-Pulse Technology (Sym-Pulse Corp.). We are equipped with several scopes, Logic Analyzer, arbitrary function generator, RF power meter, RF generators, and Spectrum Analyzers and much more. We have one fully
equipped digital bench and an adjacent RF bench that has supported a on-going developed of a modular radio operating in the NII band at 25 Mbps @ 5.25 GHz. Once simulations are realized, this is just another step in making a proto-type!

Proto-Types Assembly
- (Microscopic equipped fabrication of limited quantity proto-types.)
We are equipped with all the tools and microscopes and soldering tools to handle very small parts like the UCSP 2X3 pin package which are very small using the 6 pad 2x3 UCSP BGA package with a 10 mil spacing. (MicTechS = Soldering Tricks!)

“We offer a complete turn key solution from start to finish....”
“We are prime to be your first proto-type house. Beyond that manufacturing engineers take over!”
